Guilty of being Comfortable

Yes, guilty and caught red-handed.

We were not prepared for this shift.

Now, to be honest, I feel some of the transition to digital is unwanted, scary risky, lacks humanity and is lonely.

But, in most areas, organizations have realized the digital is surely a more sustainable, profitable and scalable way forward.

My question is… If it’s so sustainable, efficient, profitable and scalable… Why didn’t the organizations do it before? Out of choice, rather than a no-alternate option.

Because we were so comfortable.

And when you are stuck by comfort, it’s beautiful to stay where you are. Laziness is considered as a strategy. Innovation is good subject for trainings only [or for CEO to speak at a conference].

Here’s is a problem. Intent is important. Even if something good happens without your involvement and intent, you cannot enjoy it. And this is what’s happening around us. Organizations waited to do something until they were forced to change.

This is not positive.

This is not growth mindset.

This is not intentional.

This is not leadership.

When we shift abruptly without intent or will, we may change but its always inefficient and damaging in the long run.

I’ve said it before. I repeat it here… and I wish I don’t have to cry shouting about it.

Innovation is not a subject. It’s a way of life.

Next time, take the lead and avoid the guilt of being comfortable.
