Make a Choice… Now!

Be Judged or Be Ignored.

I read it few years back — and I have cherished it since then.

We all complain about being judged. We hate those who judge us [for their judgements that are not as cool as our own perception about ourselves]. But being judged is a choice. It’s a choice you made when you decided to show up.

When you show up, when you step forward, when you say let me try this, when you say I can do this… you decide to show up. And once you decide to show up, being judged is part of the deal.

The only way to avoid being judged is to be ignored. Completely. As if you never existed. That’s easy. Isn’t it? But is it worth it?

Being judged is uncomfortable. It makes you vulnerable [for some time at least]. You wish others would see the world the way you want them to see — but you see, they don’t have that much time. They honestly don’t care. They have their biases, prejudices, information, misinformation… all of this — with literally no time to see things from your worldview, and so they judge.

So, once you decide to show up, be willing to be judged. That may be misjudged, underestimated, unfair… but you’ll be judged — because you chose to show up.

You don’t like it. You think it not fair. Cool! Then just don’t show up and enjoy the bliss of being ignored.

Make a choice… Now!
