Life is interesting. Work is challenging. Overcoming obstacles, facing rejection, being open to vulnerabilities, chartering in unknown territories… we all need a story to move forward… A reason to show-up tomorrow.

And the quality of the reason determines the quality of the work you do.

I tried to think of few most common reasons to show up. This is not a complete list, but simply a quick reflection.

  • To be a better version of yourself
  • To pursue a dream larger than you
  • To pursue someone’s dream
  • To avoid shame — so that you are not seen as a loser!
  • To compete
  • To solve a problem
  • To be famous
  • To be generous with your skills/gifts
  • To satisfy your creative itch
  • To earn living
  • To respond to peer/family pressure
  • To take revenge
  • To stay busy
  • To change the world

Some of them leave you exhausted and worn-out, some create an environment of hope, possibility and joy.

What’s your reason to show up?

Choose your story.

Show up for a better reason!
