The Bestseller Trap

Have you ever referred to a bestseller list before deciding your next move? Bestseller lists are everywhere, simply because it works.

Bestsellers work because deep down, we want to do what others are doing [to be safe]. It’s a trap — because for things to be popular, they have to be popular first :)

The best thing about bestsellers is that even if you don’t like it once you use it/consume it, you can blame others.

But why I call it a trap?

Because bestsellers promote average and ignores outliers.

Because bestsellers promote blame and avoids responsibility.

Because bestsellers limit decision making skills.

Because bestsellers completely ignore individuals and promotes average.

But then… you see, it’s easy, accessible and cool!
