The light at the end of the tunnel

There is always an end to a chapter. I believe that early next year, perhaps as soon as late in the first quarter or early second quarter, we’ll see things finding momentum, investment finding direction and an upward shift in consumer spending. And I am not being positive thinker here… My optimism is grounded. I feel this way because:

  • The vaccines are here. It may not serve the entire humanity right away and it may take as long as end of 2023 to be in access of everyone — the very news of vaccines has given a serious psychological uplift.
  • There has been a cleansing of poor performers, horrible leaders, lousy businesses and orthodox institutions.
  • US elections are mostly sorted now.
  • The stock market is getting the desired momentum.
  • Small business and new start-ups are finding investments and resources to grow. Big businesses are willing to offer platform to small businesses in order to channel their capital. That’s a great opportunity.
  • The pandemic allowed a significant shift for many… from “What may go wrong” to “It just went wrong”. This added some serious shock absorbers in otherwise risk-averse talented individuals. This will have long-lasting impact.
  • There is a genuine dialogue around reimagining business models, employment contracts, infrastructure improvement, e-commerce environment, educational policies, immigration laws, healthcare access, and so forth.

There is more I can write here… but then, isn’t it enough?

I think we all should be joyfully preparing to take advantage of the upcoming opportunities. We’ve been through a dark patch, but it made us stronger. The light is surely there at the end of the tunnel.
