The world’s worst boss or best boss?
That would be you.
Yes you.
No exaggeration.
Even if you are not an entrepreneur (self-employed), you are your boss. The choice you need to make is:
Do you want your boss to be world’s best or worst?
Not convinced yet?
See — you manage your career, your preferences, your responses, the way you sell your ideas, products or services, your personal development, yourself talk…
It’s up to you — you do it poorly or brilliantly.
Imagine if you get a boss who talks to you the way you talk to yourself. Takes your development as seriously as you take it. Imagine if you had a boss that wasted as much of your time as you do.
I meet some really brilliant young boys and girls and try to offer them a career full of surprises, learning opportunity and exposure. The only thing missing in my offer is guarantee. Guarantee that it will work. And honestly, I’m amazed at how often these young (and apparently talented people) shy away as they are looking for something predictable. And their excuse is always the same… I want to first get some real-world exposure. I know it’s a lie. A blatant lie. What they mean to say is that they lack guts, faith in their abilities and are aspiring for something safe, predictable and guaranteed to work.
It’s sad to see how often people chose to play safe. Faced with the freedom to excel and express, they hesitate and stall.
Choose to be a better boss of yourself. You deserve better. Surprise yourself. Educate yourself. Allow yourself to be vulnerable. Allow yourself to experiment with life and career. Don’t be a lousy boss who throws his insecurities on his subordinates.
